How to Apply

Grant Eligibility

Grant eligibility depends on the applicant’s circumstances (i.e. underlying cause of infertility, financial situation, and other life factors) and their meeting a set of requirements, as listed below.

Meeting grant requirements does not guarantee receiving a grant. Giving Grace Foundation receives many applications, and we are unable to fund all those who apply.

Current grants range from $500 to $1,500. As our foundation grows, we hope to increase awards given.

For your convenience, please use the following checklist to determine your eligibility.

Eligibility Checklist

  • Type of treatments covered: Giving Grace Foundation funds a range of procedures associated with in vitro fertilization (IVF).  Giving Grace Foundation does not cover IUI.

  • Failure to conceive naturally: Giving Grace Foundation recognizes failure to conceive naturally as eligibility.  An infertility evaluation must be completed and an infertility treatment plan must be in place.

  • Residence: Applicants must be permanent residents of Minnesota and under the care of an accredited fertility facility within the United States.

  • Living arrangements: All applicants must maintain adequate living arrangements.

  • Financial means: At least one partner must maintain employment to indicate financial ability to support a child.

  • Health Insurance: All applicants must have basic health insurance for mother and baby with sufficient prenatal coverage.

  • Receiving financial aid from other charities: We do not generally grant awards to those already receiving financial help from other charities. Note that this does NOT include discounts from fertility clinics and bank loans.

  • Your fertility timeline: Giving Grace does not reimburse for past procedures. You must be undergoing active fertility treatment (i.e. pursuing an egg retrieval, embryo transfer, etc.). All grants will be dispersed directly to the clinic within six months from date of award.  If the six-month deadline has elapsed, you will forgo grant dispersal and are welcome to apply for the next application cycle. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

Application Process

Grants are awarded annually in February. All applications and personal release forms MUST be received by December 31st. Finalists may be contacted to provide additional information. All applicants will be notified via email approximately four to eight weeks after the application deadline.

To ensure applicants’ privacy, full application information for those not selected as grant recipients will be destroyed two months after the grant deadline. For this reason, repeat applicants must submit all forms and accompanying information anew. Applications need to be submitted by mail for security purposes.
