How to Apply

Grant Eligibility

Grant eligibility depends on the applicant’s circumstances (i.e., underlying cause of infertility, financial situation, and other life factors) and their meeting a set of requirements, as listed below. Note that Giving Grace Foundation does not reimburse for past procedures.

Note that meeting grant requirements does not assure receiving a grant. Giving Grace Foundation receives many applications, and we are unable to fund all those who apply. This grant will NOT fully cover your entire infertility costs, it is partial financial assistance.

For your convenience, please use the following checklist to determine your eligibility.

Eligibility Checklist

  • Type of treatments/procedures covered: Giving Grace Foundation funds a range of procedures associated with in vitro fertilization (IVF).  Giving Grace Foundation does not cover IUI.

  • Failure to conceive naturally: Giving Grace Foundation recognizes failure to conceive naturally as eligibility.  An infertility evaluation must be completed, and an infertility treatment plan is in place.

  • Residence: Applicants must be permanent residents of Minnesota and must be under the care of an accredited fertility facility within the United States.

  • Living arrangements: All applicants must maintain adequate living arrangements.

  • Means for child support: All applicants must possess the means to offer continued child support (at least one partner must maintain employment).

  • Health Insurance: All applicants must have basic health insurance for mother and baby with sufficient prenatal coverage.

  • Receiving financial aid from other charities: We do not generally grant awards to those already receiving financial help from other charities. Note that this does NOT include discounts from fertility clinics and bank loans.

  • Your fertility timeline: Giving Grace does not reimburse for past procedures.

  • Readiness to begin treatment: Recipients must begin treatment within six months of receiving a grant.  If within the six-month period, a recipient is unable to afford/finance the remainder of their treatment or a medical issue arises, we will forgo the grant to that recipient.  Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

Application Process

Grants are awarded annually in February. All applications MUST be received by December 31st. Finalists may be contacted to provide additional information. All applicants will be notified via email approximately four to eight weeks after the application deadline.

To ensure applicants’ privacy, full application information for those not selected as grant recipients will be destroyed two months after the grant deadline.
